Matt Gonzalez's art writings have appeared in Juxtapoz, San Francisco Arts Quarterly, Ceramics: Art & Perception, San Francisco Examiner, Squarecylinder, San Francisco Bay Guardian, and in numerous gallery monographs. He recently published a 299 page collection of over 50 art reviews and other related essays: "Art Writings: 2008-2024" (San Francisco: FMSBW, 2025). A graduate of Columbia University and Stanford Law School, Gonzalez previously taught a course "Art & Politics" at the San Francisco Art Institute. His found paper collage artworks are in the collection of SFMoMA, the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts, and the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento. Since 2014, Gonzalez has been represented by Dolby Chadwick Gallery in San Francisco.
