Jan Wurm is an artist, educator, and curator engaged in expanding the forum for contemporary art dialogue. Wurm has taught for University of California, Berkeley Extension and lectured extensively as a visiting artist. Jan Wurm is past Director of Exhibitions and Curator of Art at the Richmond Art Center where her projects included Closely Considered: Diebenkorn in Berkeley, Mildred Howard: Spirit & Matter, David Park: Personal Perspectives, Joan Brown: In Living Color, and Face Forward: Self-Image & Self-Worth.
Currently dividing her time between Berkeley and L.A, Wurm has lived in California and Europe honing an eye for social patterns and conventions. Exhibited internationally, Wurm's work is in collectionsincluding the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, New York Public Library Print Collection, Archiv des Vereins der Berliner Künstlerinnen, Universität für angewandte Kunst, Vienna.
