Doug Welch is originally from South Carolina and has resided in the Bay Area for over 25 years. A graduate of Presbyterian College and the University of Arizona’s School of Law, he has been an attorney in the San Francisco Public Defender’s office for over 25 years.

An avid collector of contemporary art, he joins the roster at the Roborant Review with his inaugural art reviews. 

Welch believes that effective law practice requires some of the same attributes that produce successful art making: creativity, focused on confronting the richness, complexity, and diversity of the human experience.
