Sarah Poisner is a curator and art historian with broad interests spanning from the Old Masters to the contemporary. After receiving art history degrees from Syracuse University and New York University's Institute of Fine Arts, she returned to her native California. Currently working as the Director of Exhibitions and Publications at the John Natsoulas Gallery, she oversees a large institutional program that also includes conferences and other public events. Her curatorial projects there have included large-scale group shows about Californian women artists, contemporary sculpture, and conceptual art. Two of her monographic publications delve into underrecognized Bohemian artists Emmy Lou Packard and Jean Varda, and she has written a number of other exhibition essays.
