Emily lives in San Francisco. She has written for numerous publications, including the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, Alta Journal, Latino USA, the Daily Beast, San Francisco Classical Voice, and Hyperallergic. For many years, she taught adults getting their high school diplomas at City College of San Francisco. She hosts the short podcast about Bay Area artists, Art is Awesome.
