Tamsin Smith is an artist and writer based in San Francisco and Sonoma. Smith has published five collections of poetry and a novel. She also frequently writes art reviews and catalogue essays. Her paintings have been widely exhibited in solo and group shows throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Smith is a cofounder of the post-pop indie band WUNDERCAT, for which she co-writes songs and plays keys.
Smith served as the first curator-in-residence for hand-crafted artist book maker Arion Press, conceiving and executing exhibitions around topics as diverse as sea level rise, dyslexia, and war. She holds an MA from Tufts and a BA from Kenyon College, where she graduated summa cum laude with highest honors in English. She’s a Henry Crown fellow at the Aspen Institute.
